PA iLottery Responsible Gaming
We suggest treating PA iLottery games as any other form of entertainment for adults who are age 18 or older. When we ask players to play responsibly, we mean:
- Set a budget before starting and play only within your financial means.
- Understand the chances of winning and do not “chase” your losses.
- Do not allow play to interfere with work or family obligations.
- If playing stops being fun, take a break or stop playing entirely.
Most adults can play lottery games without issue, but anyone with a compulsive gambling problem should not play at all.

Responsible Gaming Tools to Help Play Responsibly
Verified Proof of Age and Identity
By law, players must be 18 or older and be located within the state of Pennsylvania to play PA iLottery games. Before allowing an account to be set up, we will perform electronic verification using an industry standard, electronic verification process to verify the identity and ages of all customers.
Do not allow children to play PA iLottery games and do not leave a computer or mobile device unattended while logged into PAiLottery.com.
PAiLottery.com players can set their own limits to help ensure they are playing responsibly. These include a session time limit; a deposit limit and/or a spend limit. Consider setting a combination of those limits. Players can set or adjust their limits on the Responsible Gaming page accessible from “My Account” within PAiLottery.com. Contact Player Support for help with this process.
Players can review their account statements as a way to monitor their own activities with a goal of playing responsibly. Select “Account Statement” from the “My Account” tab. Please note that this information applies only to PAiLottery.com does not track purchases of lottery games sold in stores.
If you feel the need to take a break, take a cool-off period from 3 days to 30 days in length by selecting “Responsible Gaming” from the “My Account” tab. During that time, you will be unable to access your PA iLottery account and any funds in it. Be sure to understand the restrictions and limitations associated with a cool-off period before asking to take one. When the cool-off period has ended, access to your account will be automatically restored.
Please note that a cool-off period at PA iLottery does not stop you from playing lottery tickets sold in stores, but it will prevent you from entering any qualifying tickets into online second-chance drawings.
The self-exclusion option exists for anyone wishing to block their own access to PAiLottery.com for a period of one year or five years. Learn more about this option by selecting “Responsible Gaming” from the “My Account” tab. Before asking to self-exclude, here are a few important things to consider:
- All self-exclusion requests must come from the individual making the request (you cannot submit a request on behalf of someone else).
- Self-exclusion is a binding legal agreement that cannot be ended early.
- Accounts are not automatically restored when the period ends.
Self-exclusion does not stop you from playing lottery tickets sold in stores, but it will prevent you from entering any qualifying tickets into online second-chance drawings.
Self-exclusion from PAiLottery.com does not restrict participation in other forms of gambling, such as playing at a casino. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board maintains a separate self-exclusion program for people who wish to be restricted from entering casinos. If you have placed yourself on one list, you may wish to place yourself on the other.
PA iLottery is operated by the Pennsylvania Lottery, which is committed to promoting responsible play and supports the state and national councils on problem gambling. We work to generate funding to benefit older Pennsylvanians in a socially responsible way.
If compulsive gambling is a concern for you or someone that you care about, please call 1-800-GAMBLER for confidential assistance. Know the signs. Have the conversation.
